DYG places information security and service quality at the centre of its operations. This policy explains the use of cookies and similar technologies on dyg.gr, your choices and how your consent preferences are stored. Optional analytics and marketing services are enabled only if configured on the website and you have accepted the corresponding category.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They are used to support website functionality, remember preferences or measure traffic. Local storage (localStorage) is a separate technology that we use to retain your consent preferences.
2. Cookie categories we use
The categories below are the ones controlled by the consent banner. Only strictly necessary cookies run before you make a choice.
| Category | Purpose | Examples | Duration | Basis |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Core functionality, security, storing your consent choices, spam protection on forms. | dyg.cookie-consent (local storage, not a cookie) | No automatic expiry; until website data is cleared or the record is replaced | Storage necessary to manage your choices |
| Statistics (analytics) | Measuring traffic and website usage to improve the site. | Google Analytics 4 (_ga, _ga_*), if enabled | Depends on the service configuration; preference storage does not determine these cookies' lifetime | Consent |
| Marketing | Measuring campaign performance and showing relevant ads. | Google Ads (_gcl_*), if enabled | Depends on the service configuration | Consent |
3. How consent is stored and enforced
- Your decision is stored locally on your device in
localStorageunder the keydyg.cookie-consent. It is not sent to a server and is not linked to an identity. - The record holds your per-category choices (
analytics, marketing), a version number (version) and the time of your last choice (updatedAt). This is a local preference record, not a central consent evidence log. - Until consent is given, optional analytics and marketing scripts are not loaded and the corresponding Google Consent Mode v2 signals remain denied. Scripts load only after the matching category is explicitly granted, provided the service is configured.
- If you withdraw consent, consent signals are updated, the corresponding script tags are removed and deletion of accessible cookies in that category is attempted. Reload the page to fully unload a script that has already run. Our website cannot delete cookies on other domains.
- If the consent mechanism's version changes, the previous record is no longer accepted and the banner is shown again. Clearing website data also means you will need to choose again.
- You can change your preferences at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of every page.
4. Third-party cookies
Optional third-party services, such as Google Analytics and Google Ads, may process data under their own policies when configured and you have consented. Social media links lead to external websites; displaying these links alone does not activate a marketing service on DYG's website. When you follow a link, the respective provider's policies apply.
5. How to control cookies
You can delete or block cookies through your browser settings. Please note that disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of the website.

6. Changes to this cookie policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is available on this page and the effective date is shown at the top.

8. Related company policies
This Cookie Policy complements DYG's recently published company documents. It does not replace the security and quality policies or the disciplinary breach management process. That process concerns information security policy breaches within the organisation, not visitors' cookie choices.
- Information Security Policy — commitments to protecting information and continuously improving security.
- Quality Policy — commitments to product and service quality and customer satisfaction.
- Disciplinary Breach Management — the process for addressing information security policy breaches.
